Everyone should be able to make the call. Boldcall is built to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Here's what that means, what we tested, and what we're still fixing.

Our goal
We're aiming for WCAG 2.1 Level AA across the phone apps, the web app and this site. We think we're mostly there, apart from what's listed below. No outside company has audited us yet. We'll say so here when one does.
What we tested
Every screen gets scanned with axe in light and dark mode on every release. The last run found zero issues. Scanners can't tell if things read in a sensible order or sound right on a screen reader. So we also went through the main stuff (making a call, picking a side, secret picks, reveal day) using only a keyboard, VoiceOver and TalkBack.
What's built in
- A visible focus outline on everything, and every screen works by keyboard with no dead ends.
- For sure and Nope work as a proper choice, so screen readers say which one you picked.
- A secret pick reads as secret, with the number of people who picked, never as blank.
- Text has at least 4.5:1 contrast and buttons at least 3:1, in both modes. That includes team and topic colors, which we darken when we need to.
- Color is never the only clue. Right and wrong answers also get a label and a shape.
- Text follows your phone's size setting, and layouts rearrange instead of cutting off.
- The reveal animation turns off if Reduce Motion is on, or if you turn Motion off in the app.
- Every chart has a written summary with the real numbers.
Still fixing
- On the phone apps, the progress ring shows as a plain track with the number in the middle instead of a curved ring. The number is still readable and labeled. The ring is coming.
- Screen reader testing has focused on the main parts of the game. Other screens have had automated and keyboard checks only.
- We haven't tested with disabled players yet. We plan to before a big launch.
